About the Holy Lands of Nubia

The religion of the Empire of Nubia is a polytheistic which has lasted throughout its history its origins however date back thousands of years. Nubian men generally worship certain deities that represent virility, sexual prowess, the phallus etc, these are shown below  many large temples exist within the holy land, with smaller ones throughout the empire. Slaves are accorded their own temples of worship but only for the worship of the elemental parts that make up the sacred Nubian male body some of the names are Yoruba or Swahili a list and explanation is below.

Gods

Here is an introduction to a few deities with gay themed myths or worship.

Aganju

He is the god of Volcanoes and Deserts 

Babalu Aye

He is the god of disease and illnesses 

Diab

He controls sexual urges in men and is symbolized by the phallus.

Erinle 

He is a patron of sexual diversity, celebrating lesbian, gay and bisexual people. He is said to live in the forest with his Orisha brothers part of the time

Ibeji

They are the twin gods of Youth and Vitality

Kokou 

Is a warrior god, renowned for his violence and ferocity. He is the most feared of the Orisha.

Min

"The Firm One". Egyptian god of fertility, rain, and agriculture, and protector of roads and travellers.

Nzambi

African bisexual creator god. Associated with the sky and earth.

Oshosi 

Is also a hunting god, who is highly regarded for his quick wit and objectivity.

Oxosi

God of hunting  and scouting

Shango

The God fire, lightning and thunder represents male power and sexuality

Priests

In Nubia some men choose the role of the priest was very important in Nubia Society. The Nubians believed the gods lived in the temples. Only the priest was allowed to enter the sacred area of the temple and approach the statue representing the god or goddess. The people could pray at the gate or in the court to the Emperor or King acts as a go-between the people and the gods.

Bearing of Offerings    

 The priests role was to care for the needs of the god/goddess. They have no role to oversee or care for the people of Egypt. They did not try to educate the people on the religion or look after their morals.
